A major concern in 1776 was the assuming of too much power by those elected to represent us in government.  This power is still a major concern for our state today.  When politicians assume the posture of knowing what is more beneficial to the citizens than the citizens themselves, our future is in jeopardy.  We must elect a legislature responsive to the will of the public and not special interests.

By voting to pass the largest budget and consequently the greatest tax increase in North Carolina history, it appears that a majority of our state legislators are no longer working for the citizens of our state.  We need to eliminate corruption and unnecessary spending and slow the growth of run-away government.
